New BIGCCS PhD – Dr. Robin Wegge

Mr. Robin Wegge successfully defended his PhD thesis at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany, on February 5. The title of his thesis was:

Thermodynamic Properties of the (Argon + Carbon Dioxide) System: Instrument Development with Density and Speed-of-Sound Measurements

The assessment committee consisted of:

  • Head: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Viktor Scherer
  • 1stReviewer: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Roland Span
  • 2ndReviewer: Dr.-Ing. Markus Richter

Mr. Wegge has investigating the thermodynamic properties of CO2-rich mixtures, and has performed density and speed-of-sound measurements in the (argon + carbon dioxide) system. As part of his project Mr. Wegge spent two months at the National Institute of Standards and Technology win Boulder, Colorado, USA.

The project has been a part of BIGCCS Task 2.2 – CO2Mix.

BIGCCS wishes Dr. Wegge good luck in his future endeavors!
