Under the heading operational status, BIGCCS Director Ms. Mona Mølnvik reported on efforts to highlight innovation activities in BIGCCS. She said that the fact that we are now documenting all activities, and ranking them on a TRL (technology readiness level) scale, has raised significantly the awareness about innovation.

Planning of 2015 is well underway. 2015 year will be an important year for the Centre as many of the activities are approaching the final stage. Annual working plans will be finalized early January.

The Board also discussed options for continuing the Centre’s activities after the current FME period ends in December 2016. One option is to apply for a new FME. The Research Council of Norway has announced that a new FME call will be issued during spring 2015.

Before the meeting the Board members visited the CLC test rig at Tiller 20 km south of central Trondheim. Researchers Øyvind Langørgen and Inge Saanum gave an interesting introduction to the test plant and guided the board members at the rig. More about the CLC test plant and ongoing activities here.
